The Florida State Seminoles accepted an invitation from the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl to face West Virginia on January 1, 2010 at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in what will be the final game of Seminole head coach Bobby Bowden's storied career.

Florida State University Head Football Coach Bobby Bowden announced Tuesday that he will be retiring after the Seminoles upcoming bowl game. Coach Bowden, who will have 34 seasons completed, will coach Florida State in the bowl game and will finish his career as one of the winningest coaches in the history of major college football.

The Florida State Seminoles men's basketball team fell on the road to the #15 Ohio State Buckeyes,77-64, in Columbus on Wednesday night. The Buckeyes were led by Evan Turner with 25 points and Jon Diebler with 22 points. FSU was led by Solomon Alabi with 21 points, Xavier Gibson with 12 points and Michael Snaer with 10 points. With the Ohio State win, the Big 10 Conference won its first ever ACC/Big 10 Challenge.
